Obsessed With Tom Schaar Magazine Spread

This magazine spread was designed to capture the skate culture and a true skateboarding olympian. I chose to make the type and columns on an angle to capture the reader's attention. The slightly transparent background is home to the olympian skater himself, Tom Schaar. For the first spread, I made the title of the article a simple sans-serif that has a concrete texture. In the second spread, I shifted the text to be slightly tilted, as well as the photo and caption of the next page.
